This unique looking character was created by Mike Mignola for Dark Horse Comics in 1993 and subsequently turned into a movie in 2004 by Mexican visionary director Guillermo del Toro.

The larger than life outfit was specially made for Ron Pearlman who was both the director’s and creator’s first choice for the role. It was designed by Wendy Partridge who won a Saturn Science Fiction award for her work on this film.

The whole ensemble has been put on a specially created mannequin and professionally constructed featuring a character head made by Howard Stent from Rick Baker’s original design. The Hand of Doom and oversized revolver (known as The Samaritan) are both licensed replicas.
