Crow, The
Brandon Lee's Face Paint Stencil
Stock # 22616
Brandon Lee's face paint template used in the production of the 1994 thriller The Crow. The ensure continuity during Lee's make-up sessions to get into character as the resurrected Eric Draven, this piece was created from a mould of his face and the placement of the distinctive lines was cut out allowing the make-up artist to easily apply the black lines repeatedly in exactly the same place for every take. The stencil is made from latex and is still in great condition, still with black, white and red make-up residue from it's repeated use on set.
To ensure its shape and integrity is persevered, the mask is presented on a custom built display stand with formed face support atop a chrome rod. The base incorporates the movie logo in colour and brief description which are illuminated with ultra-bright LEDS operated by a push-button at the back, and to achieve maximum versatility the face support can be manipulated to face a variety of angles via a thick wire armature below it. The entire ensemble measures 42cm (16.5”) tall, the base is 16cm x 21cm (6.25” x 8.25”). A fascinating piece from behind the scenes.
