Gladiator
Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) Tunic and Robes

The tunic and cape worn by Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) in the action packed drama Gladiator. This costume can be seen in the scenes halfway through the film when Commodus returns to Rome as Caesar and addresses the Senate whilst twirling his sword. The costume consists of a pale coloured tunic which has gold embroidery around the neck and sleeves, the large section of material, worn as a cape attached to the top of Commodus’ breastplate, has a pattern running through it with gold embroidery running along the edges, there are two pieces of cord where the material would have been attached.
