David Orange Basketball & Hoop
Stock # 27091
A black basketball hoop & Spalding basketball used in Ridley Scott’s mystery sci-fi Prometheus (2012). This hoop & ball are from the opening scenes of the movie when the android David (Michael Fassbender) passing time until he awakens the crew from hypersleep. The hoop is attached to the backboard in the meeting hall / gymnasium of the ship where David appears cycling and shooting baskets.
The hoop has been sprayed black, with gold flecks for shooting with the original bright orange colour still being visible on the wall mountings. The hoop has a worn fabric net and the original fittings where it was attached to the backboard on set. The Spalding basketball is a ‘Game Ball Series’ outdoor ball which is a production back-up, being slightly less worn than the one seen in the final cut, it has been distressed and dirtied ready for shooting. The hoop is in very good production used condition and including mountings measures 65cm x 46cm (25.5” x 18”).
