Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, The (2005)
Dual Bladed Head Saw

This is an original head saw prop created for the production of the 2005 sci-fi film The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The head saw was created for the scene toward the film’s end where two pan-dimensional beings resembling mice attempt to remove Arthur’s (Martin Freeman) brain using a saw with two small spinning blades.
The silver colored device is made of a plastic center piece with two moving aluminum arms, one on each side, each with a long metal wire running to a tiny piece with a small aluminum rotating sawblade mounted underneath. This piece has some wear due to production use; there is a small amount of dried glue at top from where another piece had been present holding the mice (see photos), but overall the device remains in good condition. The piece measures approximately 18” x 11” (46cm x 28cm). The electronics have not been tested.
This item comes with a Prop Store Certificate of Authenticity.
