Pet Sematary
Gage Mechanical Arm With Scalpel

This is Gage’s mechanical arm with scalpel from the 1989 horror film Pet Sematary. The arm can be seen in the film as Gage, a recently-deceased boy, comes back to life and goes on a murderous rampage with his fathers’ scalpel. The arm is made of wood covered in a black sleeve with a foam latex hand at the end, holding a stunt scalpel without a blade. There are cables attached to the arm, which run from the hand to the lever control attached at the arms’ base that when squeezed, moves the hand up and down. The foam wrist has a large top section at the edge no longer present due to age and drying/cracking of the foam; the fingers also have become dried and cracked. This arm is in a fragile state in somewhat poor condition. The arm, bent at the elbow, measures approximately 36” (91cm) in length.
