Iris (Lyndsy Fonseca) Mechanical Puppet

This is Iris' SFX mechanical puppet from the 2010 John Carpenter horror film The Ward. Iris (Lyndsy Fonseca) is kidnapped by a disfigured woman after her last therapy session with Dr. Stringer (Jared Harris.) This item was used as the disfigured woman takes a long medical tool and shoves it though Iris' left eye cavity, killing her instantly!
This mechanical puppet consists of Iris' head and chest, which is made of silicone over a fiberglass shell attached to a metal support structure and wooden base. She is wearing a colorful fabric blouse which covers the inner workings of the mechanical structure. There are numerous cables running along the interior and out the base, which were used for controlling the puppet's movements during filming. The puppet is very lifelike featuring hand-punched hair, eyebrows and eyelashes and a full set of resin teeth, as well as glass baby blue eyes as seen on screen. The entire piece measures 30" (76cm) in height, with its base measuring approximately 19" x 10" (48cm x 25cm.) Due to production use this item displays some light wear and distressing but overall remains in very good condition.
