Robin Hood (2010)
King Richard's Cloth Wrapped Sword
Stock # 23554
King Richard's wrapped riding sword from the 2010 Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe movie Robin Hood. This rubber piece was used after King Richard's (Danny Houston) untimely death, it was wrapped in a thick cotton bag sewn along one side to transport it back to England, carried by his clearly identifiable white horse. The prop weapon is one single, solid piece, made from hard moulded rubber with an internal support, and has be beautifully decorated to look as though the scabbard and handle are covered in leather with a metallic silver guard and circular pommel. The stunning piece features bespoke leather-work, with a criss-crossed leather straps and a long, well weathered belt with brass buckles. It is in superb condition and measures 104cm (41”) long, the cloth wrap is in an intentionally distressed condition with the props note written on masking tape still on the outside noting its use.
