Gladiator
Legionnaire Standard Tip

A Roman Standard Tip used in the multi Oscar winning Russell Crowe movie Gladiator. The soldiers on the German Front in the opening scenes of the movie can be seen with these impressive standards. This incredible piece is made from fibreglass painted metallic gold and silver, and is in the shape of a Legionnaires spear encircled by a thick laurel wreath. The wooden pole it sat on was removed after filming, but the layers of gaffer tape used to tighten the fit are still present and painted a matching golden colour. It measures 33 cm (13") across and is in good production used condition with some small scuffs from use on set.
