Gladiator
Maximus' (Russell Crowe) Tigris of Gaul Axe

An original prop axe used by Maximus (Russell Crowe) in the Academy Award winning epic Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott. One of Maximus’ most memorable fights in the film is with Tigris of Gaul (Sven Ole-Thorsen), the massive veteran opponent with ferocious attack cats on his side. This axe is originally wielded by Tigris in the fight, before Maximus apprehends it and stabs it through Tigris’ foot, effectively removing his challenger from the fight. This stunt prop is made from a dense rubber, with a metal core running through it to retain the shape of the piece. As with all Gladiator pieces, it has a realistic finish despite its safety-oriented construction and is in great production used condition but has sadly lost the very tip of the handle through use on set.
To ensure this incredible piece receives the full exposure it deserves, it comes presented in a stunning custom built opening display with gothic frame and laser cut mount board incorporating the movie title, stills from the movie and a brief description. It measures 88cm x 102cm x 12cm deep (34.5“ x 40“ x 4.5”) and would be a wonderful addition to any collection
