Bruce Almighty
Mechanical Animal Leg

This is a mechanical animal leg from the 2003 Jim Carrey comedy Bruce Almighty. In the film, Bruce Nolan (Carrey) receives almighty powers, God's (Morgan Freeman) response to Bruce's frequent complaints about Him. This leg was created for the production for use in practical special effects shots of a dog playing cards (see reference photo), but ultimately did not make the film’s final cut. The leg features a foam center with a thin layer of black-spotted white hair on the exterior. The paw even has soft black padding on the underside with fake black claws. The interior of the leg also features a thin metal rod which runs the length of the leg and connects to a metal handle grip with squeeze lever which manipulated the paw. This leg measures approximately 26” x 3” (66cm x 8cm) and is in good condition.
