Star Trek: The Motion Picture

Mr. Spock's (Leonard Nimoy) Vulcan Kolinahr Robe

Stock # 21655

“Live long and prosper.” This item is a Vulcan Kolinahr robe worn by Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) in the legendary 1979 Sci-fi film Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The easily screen-matched robe can be seen in the film as Spock is on his home world attempting to purge himself of all emotion.

This off-white fabric robe is sleeveless and features numerous geometric shapes which in turn form larger, circular shapes, matching the ground where Spock is seen on the planet Vulcan. The interior of the robe is colored brown, and there are two triangular shaped pieces on the chest of the robe with matching brown fabric.

The robe features a slit on each side running from top to bottom as well as a brown strap at the waist on each side that, with the attached metal clasps, brings the robe together. Continuing downward, there are multiple rectangular fabric straps at front and back that hang down freely, above the robes’ frayed bottom.

The interior of the robe features a sewn in tag from Western Costume Co. which is labeled: “Spock-Nimoy”. Also included is an original letter of authenticity from Ted Shell, the costume maker on the film, dated February 15, 1991. The hand-signed letter explains that only two of the robes were made for the film, one of which was personally dismantled by Shell himself, leaving this the only one in existence anywhere.

This exceptionally rare piece of Science Fiction film history, which has been production distressed but remains in very good condition, measures approximately 61” x 13” (155cm x 33cm).

This item comes with a Prop Store Certificate of Authenticity.
