Production Used Unpainted Catwoman Cowl

A production used Catwoman cowl from the production of Tim Burton's caped crusader sequel Batman Returns. Burton's Catwoman is one of the most iconic villain costumes and is an instantly recognisable piece of cinematic history. This unique cowl matches the style and pattern yet differs very slightly from the hero Michelle Pfeiffer version which instead had a high gloss finish and white painted faux stitching whereas this actually had white thread on the right cheek, a distinct difference to any early production prototypes. To support its production worn status there are soft metal forming plates inside that ensured a snug fit around the actress's head and still contains makeup residue inside where it was fixed for a period of time.
The soft rubber appliance is in superb condition for its age with no damage to the delicate pointed ears and very little cracking to the more vunerable areas around the nose, again supporting its use. Although not definitively screen used, this stunning piece was perhaps most like utilised off screen during a costume fitting, or as a stand in when the hero design was not available. It is an excellent example of the great character and perfect for any Batman collector.
