Shaw's Illuminated Cooker Top

A light-up etched effect cooking surface used in Ridley Scott’s mystery sci-fi Prometheus (2012). This lit surface can be seen in Dr Elizabeth Shaw’s (Noomi Rapace) apartment when the crew return from their first expedition on the planet’s surface. This fake etched hob top is seen built on to Dr Shaw’s side board amongst other utensils.
The top is an acrylic sheet which has been coated and etched to give the effect of four ring hobs for which to cook on. This sheet is then backlit with a luminescent panel to give the futuristic glow and to better display the graphic above. To illuminate this prop a 'PP3 9V' battery is required (not supplied). The back of the unit has ‘Shaws Kitchen’ written on it in pencil, this is likely to have been a note to the production team so that the dressing was properly located on set. This interesting item is in a good production used condition with only minor scratches and scuffs. The item measures 54 cm x 38 cm (21” x 15”).
