Spanish Leon And Castille Crest Shield

A Spanish Shield from the 2005 Ridley Scott crusade movie Kingdom of Heaven. This style of shield can be seen in the port town of Messina where Balian (Orlando Bloom) and the dying Ibelin's (Liam Neeson) companions reach on their voyage to Jerusalem. The white and black shield features the Leon and Castille crest, a lion in black and three-towered castle in gold positioned in opposite corners. The piece is made from wood wrapped with canvass with the design painted on, complete with leather straps and padding on the back fixed on with rivets that are visible from the front. It is square shaped with a curved point and in a well used condition with some intentional distressing by the production, measuring approximately 53cm x 67cm (21” x 26.5”).
