A pair of swords used in the 2006 graphic novel movie adaptation 300. Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, in which 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valour and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against the Persian enemy.
These swords were used by one of the Persian Immortals – the elite bodyguard of King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and the Persians’ mightiest warriors. Hideously disfigured, the deadly warriors wore silver masks to cover their faces and fought using two katana-like swords – their trademark weapon.

Made from hard rubber, the swords feature ornate detailing on both the grip and the blade. The sword has been given a black finish for the blade with the handles of both swords painted with silver highlights to help bring out the designs on camera. The sheaths are made of fibreglass and finished in black and silver paint and bound with black strapping to allow them to cross over when worn on an Immortal’s back. Two leather shoulder straps, used to secure the sheaths to the body, are still present.

Well used on the production, both the swords and sheaths feature some wear from use, with scuffing of the paint finish and some minor fibreglass damage to the sheaths. However, in spite of this production wear, the set remains in overall good condition and is supplied with official paperwork and documentation from Warner Brothers studios confirming the provenance.
