A Spartan Soldier's Fiberglass Shield from Zack Snyder's 2006 adaptation of the Frank Miller comic, 300. In the film, King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) of the Greeks leads 300 Spartan warriors against the overwhelming forces of Xerxes' Persian army at Thermopylae in 480 B.C. Shields of this style can be seen used by the Spartan's throughout the film's epic battle sequences.
This round shield consists of a fiberglass facing and is backed by a wood panel with a leather arm strap and a metal enarmes handle. The facing has been painted a dark shade of gold and features numerous production made dents and texturing to give it the appearance of being heavily used in battle. Due to production use and storage, this item features minor scuffs to the paintwork, however it remains in overall good used condition.
