A Blue Devil Samurai Warrior Costume worn in Carl Rinsch's 2013 adaptation of the classic Japanese legend, 47 Ronin. In the film, a band of 47 warriors set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master, Lord Asano. Costumes of this style can be seen worn by a large clan of Samurai warriors who arrive with Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano) in preparation for a duel in honor of Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa).
This costume consists of an ornate kabuto helmet, yodare kake neck guard, rubber kote arm guards, large silk kimono with obi, hakama pants, rubber suneate shin guards, and soft leather boots with a rubber sole. The kabuto helmet is made from resin and rubber with leather shikoro neck guard and is painted blue with orange and yellow highlights. The yodare kake neck guard is made from flexible rubber with leather and includes an elastic strap to wrap behind the head. Imprinted on the inner facing is 'kataigergely.com.' Both the kote arm guards and the suneate shin guards are made from flexible blue rubber with an elegant raised design that is painted orange. The hakama pants are made of blue cotton and include a tag that reads "Miyabi."
This costume features minor wear due to production use (see photos), however it remains in overall good worn condition.
