A prop chicken coop hut used in the production of the Aardman animation classic Chicken Run. Fearing for their lives when their farming owners buy a pie-making machine, the hens of a failing chicken farm plan their escape, led by de facto leader Ginger (Julia Sawalha) and American rooster Rocky (Mel Gibson).
This hut was used to form the large “prison camp” set in which the chickens, led by the resourceful Ginger, plot their escape from their egg farm. The hut is made primarily of resin with plastic chimney and dress up components and a corrugated iron roof. The walls of the hut are finished in dark brown with green paint used for insulation on the roof and dark metallic paints for the iron chimney. Liberal distressing has been applied to the iron roof to give it a worn, aged appearance. A white “5” has been painted on the front of the hut.

Well used on the production, this hut remains in very good production-used condition.
