A Europa Ventures EVA bag from Sebastian Cordero’s 2013 found footage thriller, Europa Report. The film follows six international astronauts on a privately funded mission to Jupiter’s moon, Europa, in hopes of finding signs of life. Bags like this are used throughout the film to store supplies for the crew on their three year voyage.
It is constructed mainly out of a faux white leather material with grey, braided straps sewn on throughout. A metal rod acts as the carrying handle to the case. A card is secured in the clear plastic window of the piece and reads “EVA Bag”, most likely an abbreviation for Extra-vehicular activity, a common term for work astronauts need to do while outside their ships. Most notably, this piece also included a Europa One mission patch on the top side and an oval Europa Ventures patch on its left side. Both patches where custom made for the film. All together, this piece measures 17”x12”x12” (43cm x 30cm x 30cm) and is in great, production used condition.
