A special effects helmet used in the production of the Paul Greengrass Iraq thriller Green Zone. Frustrated by poor intel regarding weapons of mass destruction, US Army soldier Roy Miller (Matt Damon) begins his own investigation into the missing weapons, and is soon dragged into a battle between Iraqi loyalists and the CIA.
This helmet and others like it were made for use by American soldiers during the intense firefights throughout the film and were used for simulating gunshot wounds to the head. The plastic helmet features a US Army tri-colour helmet cover and a black nylon webbing chin strap. A cavity has been removed from the helmet and a special effects “squib” device inserted to create a burst of blood when “hit” during filming. Wires within the helmet, used to fire the squib, remain in place from its time in use on the production. Fake blood has also stained the helmet cover where the squib was fired.

Distressed for use and displaying some minor wear from its time on set, the helmet remains in overall very good production-used condition.
