A sword and set of costume pieces used in the production of the 2014 mythological action film Hercules. The legendary warrior Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) is a mercenary for hire haunted by the death of his wife and children. When he is called upon by King Cotys (John Hurt) to help defend Thrace, he reluctantly agrees, but soon realises all is not as it seems. Will the demi-god rally the people and save the city, or will he crumble in the shadow of his own legend?
These pieces were used by the titular character at various points throughout his adventure, with the belt and sword used during his labours and the vest and trunks worn as he went to the aid of the beleaguered people of Thrace.

The sword, used for Hercules’ battle with the Hydra, is made of hard rubber with a long straight blade and an extended grip featuring wood grain detailing, sculpted-in leather grip detail and a Celtic-style stud on the pommel. The grip is black with the blade given a metallic steel paint finish.

The belt is made of brown leather with intricate leather and metal banding and metal rivets and studding. Metal lace loops are present on the rear for tightening the piece and securing it during wear. A label marked “Hercules” is present within.

The trunks are made of faux-leather with an elasticated waist and leg holes to protect Hercules’ modesty, while the rough-cut vest is made of leather in two pieces with holes at the sides for the fitting of leather laces.

Displaying only minor wear from use, the set remains in very good condition. The massive sword measures 143 cm x 12 cm x 6 cm (56.5” x 4.75” x 2.5”) with no sizes marked within the clothing.
