A Hoplite Officer's helmet worn in the 2011 action fantasy movie Immortals. This elaborate piece was worn by one of the higher ranking soldiers in the Hoplite army who are seen early in the movie and feature again heavily before the final showdown at the base of Mt Tartaros. Made from a durable vinyl the helmet is sprayed silver with layers of mottled grey and black distressing to give it a battleworn look. The helmet is hinged to allow the face plate to move slightly to the required size, and is decorated with two 'eyes' on the front to intimidate their opponents. The most impressive aspect to the helmet is the majestic bright blue plume that fans out along the top of the piece to a ponytail at the back. Inside is padded with foam for the actor's comfort, and is numbered “372” in black marker pen, still in excellent condition measuring 39cm x 20cm x 40cm (15.5” x 8” x 15.75”).
