A Zodanga Soldier's Partial Costume worn in Andrew Stanton's adaptation of the comic series, John Carter. The film follows Confederate Army Captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) on an interplanetary adventure to Mars where he finds himself in the middle of a great war. Costumes of this style can be seen worn by the Zodanga Soldiers throughout the film.
This uniform consists of an armored helmet, shoulder plate armor, half breastplate, cape, and shoes. Most of the plated armor has been cast from vacuformed plastic, allowing it to be lightweight while still resembling sturdy armor. The helmet features a static visor and has been outfitted with foam padding and an elastic cord for a comfortable fit. Inside the helmet are two strips of tape that read "Karin" and "Raynick."
The body armor is made from a variety of materials and protects most of the left side of the body, while leaving the right side largely exposed. The plating is made from vacuform plastic and is attached to a layer of handcrafted studded leather. Branching out from the metal crest on the chest are two straps that tie to the back of the armor. Tied to the armor is a production distressed red cape.
Worn around the feet are a pair of custom made leather shoes that have been decorated with rubber platting. The shoes do not have any marked size, however each features a strip of tape in the interior that is marked "301."
Due to production use and distressing, this costume features some wear with a small break in the visor of the helmet, and some loose stitching in the leather of the body armor, however it remains in overall very good worn condition.
