A Union Infantryman outfit from the Steven Spielberg Academy Award nominated historical drama Lincoln. The film recounts President Abraham Lincoln’s (Daniel Day-Lewis) efforts to abolish slavery in the United States towards the end of the Civil War. Worn on the chest is a dark beige pullover shirt constructed of thick flannel which has full length arms with ties at the cuff and a chest pocket and is buttoned down half way.
The mid length jacket, known as a sack coat, is made of heavy blue wool and lined with beige cotton. The jacket is single breasted with dark gold buttons that have a decorate eagle symbol on them. Inside the number 109 is pinned with the tag stating 54, no other is sizes are stated. The mint green wool trousers has two front pockets and are fastened with brown buttons, the back has an adjustable strap with a buckle. The tag pinned inside has handwritten 1121 but no sizes are specified. With this there is long heavy woolen overcoat which is the same color as the trousers, featuring the same button detailing and elbow length cape.

Along with this fantastically detailed outfit are items including a cap which is in the style of a model forage cap featuring the letter H and a number 2 hornet emblem on top, it has a “McDowell” brim which was a very common style during the civil war. Along with this there is a circular water canister with a woolen cover, a faux leather small case with a strap, a cotton shoulder bag which has an intentional distressed look, dark brown belt and brown ankle boots with number 42 written on the bottom soles and 970 written inside – no other sizes are given. The whole ensemble is in fantastic condition and is a superb addition to any film enthusiast’s collection.
