Michael Murphy's (Taylor Kitsch) Backpack, Tactical Rig and Accessories from Peter Berg's 2014 war drama, Lone Survivor. Tasked with capturing or killing the notorious Taliban leader, Ahmad Shah, SEAL Team 10 encounters more than they bargained for during their dangerous mission, Operation Red Wings. Murphy can be wearing his tactical rig and backpack throughout the film, until the scene in which he contacts the Navy SEAL base to inform them of their position. To guarantee the accuracy of the film, SEAL Team 10 survivor Marcus Luttrell was brought in to supervise the use and display of all tactical gear.
Manufactured by Kelty, Murphy's backpack is the MAP 3500 model and is made for military and tactical purposes. This Military Assault Pack's (MAP) is made from nylon and includes numerous adjustable straps and compartments. The backpack has been production distressed with dirt and grime, and includes a few straps that have been wrapped in tan colored tape, giving the piece a weathered appearance. Inside the backpack compartments are a number of accessories, including a taped-up water bottle and sniper netting.
Worn around Murphy's chest is a tactical rig made by an unknown manufacturer. The rig features numerous compartments for ammunition and accessories, and like the backpack, has been distressed by production with dirt and blood stains from the SEAL team's deadly mission. This rig has several accessories including a tactical radio, smoke grenade, and zip-tie handcuffs. These accessories have been constructed from rubber, allowing them to be lightweight. This rig also includes an ammo magazine that has been cast from dense rubber.
Both items in this set have been labeled for use by Murphy, with the backpack bearing the inscription "Murphy 7311" and the tactical rig featuring "#5 Murphy." This lot features wear from production distressing and stunt work, with the tactical rig showing extensive use of stage blood. Both items are in excellent used condition.
