A Crate of Embryo Jars from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorize earth, so humans build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. Hannibal Chau, dealer of Kaiju parts, has a lair that contains jars such as this, filled with Kaiju parts.

The crate is made of metal which was painted white but now features rust which was present at the time of production. The crate is in two pieces that come apart at the middle. Inside the crate are twenty-four small glass jars with rubber caps that are filled with water and contain Kaiju parts. The Kaiju parts are made of burnt fabric and melted plastic and rubber, twisted and shaped to look like guts and skin tissue. This piece shows some wear due to production use and storage but is in overall good condition. This piece measures 16” x 11” x 7” (41 cm x 28 cm x 18 cm).
