A Crimson Typhoon Ground Crew (Eric Char) Costume from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorizes earth, forcing mankind to build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. This costume was worn by a member of the Chinese Jaeger’s team.

The costume includes many components original to the production. The jacket is a red weather proof material that features the Crimson Typhoon logo on the back. A PPDC (Pan Pacific Defense Corps) patch is affixed to the right shoulder. A tag inside the jacket labels it for Char. The grey tank top, red jumpsuit, and work vest are worn under the jacket, the latter two labeled for Char as well. A pair of size 7½ black boots, work belt, and two red beanies complete the costume. Uniforms such as this are seen worn by workers on the deck of the PPDC’s helipad. This costume consists of a shirt, jumpsuit, boots, coat, gloves, face mask and hat.

The grey undershirt has short sleeves and is a size medium. The jumpsuit includes custom markings on the leg, a bar code printed along the back and a patch reading “PPDC” (Pan Pacific Defense Corps) on the left. The white coat (size 36/44), gloves, and boots (size 11), are all water resistant. The coat features some wear and distress created by production. The boots are dyed along the bottoms with blue ink to simulate Kaiju blood. The face mask is also dyed blue to match the boot stains. The black beanie completes the look. All pieces remain in good condition.
