A set of Kaiju scavenger accessories from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters known as ‘Kaiju’ terrorizes earth, forcing mankind to build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. Items of this style can be seen worn by Hannibal Chau’s scavengers who harvest Kaiju body parts for sale on the black market. This lot includes a welding safety helmet, utility belt with sheathed knives, a long scraping tool, and a large basket of Kaiju meat.

The welding mask is made from durable plastic and features manufacturer markings under the brim. Within the hat are adjustable plastic straps, allowing for a snug fit. Worn around the waist is a leather belt which has been outfitted with several knives within nylon sheathes. The scavenger also carries a scraping tool, which features a flat head similar to a shovel, that is attached to a wooden handle. Worn around the back is a large woven basket containing wrapped Kaiju meat that is bound in cords and marked with a red sticker from Hannibal Chau’s operation. The basket features a long nylon strap, allowing it to be worn over the shoulder.

The entire lot has been covered with blue paint which represents Kaiju blood. Due to production use, the lot features minor wear with scratches to the blue paint and fraying in the material of the meat basket, however the set remains in overall good used condition. This piece measures 50” x 23” x 20” (127 cm x 58 cm x 51 cm).
