A Kaiju Light Board from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorize earth, so humans build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. This light board was used as set decoration in the Shatterdome, the Jaeger hub, near the beginning of the film.

The light board is made of metal, painted white. It features four fluorescent lights, two on each half of the board controlled by two switches. These lights have not been tested. Pictures of Kaiju tissue are pasted to the white, opaque plastic board that fits into the light panel. The images are blue and black on black paper, and feature close-up pictures of cells and tissue. These images have the words “Kaiju tissue sample” printed in the corner, and the PPDC logo with a series of letters, numbers, and Chinese characters identifying the specimens.

As this item contains electronic components, every effort has been made to describe them accurately; however no guarantee or warranty is made as to functionality, lifespan or safety of those components. It is entirely incumbent on the new owner to satisfy themselves as to their safe use and maintenance. The electronics cannot be confirmed to be in working order. The light board shows some wear due to production use and storage, but is in overall good condition. This piece measures 28” x 18” x 3” (71 cm x 46 cm x 8 cm).
