Stacker Pentecost’s (Idris Elba) Desk from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorize earth, so humans build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. Pentecost is a Marshal in the Pan Pacific Defense Corps. This desk is the prominent piece of furniture in his office.

The desk is made of a dark wood that has been ornately and beautifully sculpted to feature etchings that look like twirling wisps of fire or smoke. These etchings are present on the front of each of the desk’s eight drawers, and around the sides of the desk. The base features a criss-cross design of wood slats. And the middle base piece with the same design is separated so that it may be moved back and forth or removed entirely. The chair is made of the same wood as the desk, and features an emblem on the back of a dragon carved into the wood. The grey and white cushion completes the piece. This desk shows minor wear due to production use and storage but remains in excellent condition. This piece measures 77” x 39” x 35” (196 cm x 99 cm x 89 cm).
