A Portable Searchlight from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorize earth, so humans build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. A team of scouts investigates the carcass of a fallen Kaiju and uses lights such as this to explore inside the body.

The searchlight is made of a hollow metal box, painted green, that houses the battery. The box has a clasp to keep it closed, and a handle that extends upward with an arm that hinges out to hold the lamp. There is a switch on top of the lamp to turn the lamp on and off. The box has a shoulder strap connected to the box by two metal staple fasteners. The light requires a 12V battery, and cannot be confirmed to be in working condition. This piece measures 13” x 5” x 16” (33 cm x 13 cm x 41 cm).
