A Scavenger (Jason Chan) Costume Lot from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters known as ‘Kaiju’ terrorizes earth, forcing mankind to build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. This costume was worn by one of Hannibal Chau’s black market scavengers who collected the remains of a dead Kaiju in Hong Kong. This costume includes a wool beanie, rubber goggles, make-shift fabric mask, mesh tank top, patched up dress pants, wool fleece jacket, and sturdy leather work boots. Paired with the costume are several accessories including a Kaiju meat basket and a foam rubber pickaxe.

Unique to this character, the make-shift face mask is made from a torn t-shirt and features the classic Nintendo character, Toad, on the front. Similarly, the slacks have been customized for this character with rough patchwork along the legs and includes a rope belt. Both boots have the number “10” written in the lining. Manufacturer sizing tags have been removed from all items with the exception of the fleece jacket, which is noted as being made by Golden Line in a size medium. Also included is a long woven basket of Kaiju meat that has two leather belts threaded through the sides, allowing the basket to be worn like a backpack. The meat bags consists of bubble wrapped packaging material that is sealed under a clear plastic wrap, tied with elastic cords, and labeled with red stickers. The pickaxe tool features a long wood handle and is outfitted with a lightweight foam rubber pick. This lot has been production distressed to appear tattered from years of wear and is heavily splattered in blue paint to imitate Kaiju blood; however, it remains in good worn condition.
