A Familiar's Steel Hatchet made for the 2011 Scott Stewart action horror film, Priest. Set in an apocalyptic future, a Priest (Paul Bettany) disobeys the church when he must track down his niece who has been kidnapped by vampires. This heavy steel hatchet comes from the scene in which Priest and Hicks (Cam Gigandet) investigate the Nightshade Reservation and are attacked by the Familiars. In the scene, a Familiar throws a hatchet at Hicks, narrowly missing him.
This props is made from a heavy steel hatchet blade that has been fixed to a short wooden handle. The hatchet features minor wear from production use, including some chipping to the wood near the too of the handle where it protrudes from above the blade. Measuring approximately 1" x 6.5" x 14" (3cm x 17cm x 36cm), this prop remains in overall good condition.
