A Spaceball One Indirect Control Panel from Mel Brooks’s 1987 sci-fi comedy, Spaceballs. In this Star Wars parody, Lone Star (Bill Pullman) and his sidekick Barf (John Candy) must protect Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) from the evil Lord Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis). This control panel can be found aboard the command center of the Spaceball One, and comes from the scene in which Dark Helmet pursues Eagle V through space at Ludicrous Speed.
This panel is made from an inch thick piece of wood with a metal facing, and is equipped with white buttons and orange indicator lights. Surrounding the white buttons are lines made from narrow black tape, and black decals for the lettering. The top title reads “Indirect Command Panel,” and underneath has sections made for “Port Halter,” “Fault Warning,” Right Speed,” Fault Ignore,” “Ridiculous Speed,” “Fire Quadrant,” “Ludicrous Speed,” and “Test Ignore.” The back of the panel is marked as “Panel #7 First Section Nose Computer” and includes the completed wiring which is split into segments marked as “#5D,” “Stat Comm,” and “Chase Comm.”
Due to production use and age, this panel features some scratches on the paint, as well as missing section of the black tape, but remains in overall good production used condition.
