Star Wars - Ep VI - Return Of The Jedi

Framed Original Roy Carnon Storyboard Art - 71-72

Stock #48431

An original, hand-drawn framed storyboard set featuring the lightsaber duel between Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Darth Vader (David Prowse) from Richard Marquand’s epic Star Wars chapter, Return of the Jedi. This storyboard was hand-made by English production illustrator Roy Carnon. Best known for his work on 2001: A Space Odyssey, Carnon created this board during the film’s pre-production period at Elstree Studios in England, where Marquand prepped and eventually filmed much of Return of the Jedi.

This display features two storyboard images depicting an early version of the film’s ultimate duel between father and son. The first panel shows a bar landing near Darth Vader's lightsabers, with the second panel showing an explosion emitting from the impact.

The images have been drawn on illustration paper before being cut and glued to a cardboard backing. The images are composed in a combination of pencil, ink, marker, pastels, and what seems to be crayon as well. All of these different tools blend to create images that highlight Carnon’s own unique style. These drawings can also be seen printed in Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy, by J.W. Rinzler and are featured on page 326.

This piece comes in a beautiful crafted wood frame display with a laser cut mount board. The frame can be easily mounted on the wall with a built in wire on the back of the frame. This item remains in very good condition.
