A German Soldier's Trench Uniform in Steven Spielberg's 2011 historical drama, War Horse. Costumes of this style can be seen worn by German soldiers during the trench scenes taking place in 1918. Included in this costume is a metal helmet, over coat, jacket, trousers, putties, a metal gas mask container with a carrying strap, and an accessory belt with numerous ammunition pouches. The uniform is made primarily from a heavy green wool material and has been decorated with numerous military buttons and features epaulets at the shoulders. The accessory belt locks with a decorative buckle that reads "Gott mit uns," a phrase commonly seen on German armor through World War II. The belt includes numerous empty pouches, a canteen, and a satchel that has been stuffed with fabric.
Please note that this costume features notable dirt and grime from being worn in the muddy trenches during production, however it remains in overall very good condition.
