A Book Cover Concept Painting by Mike Pangrazio for the novelization of Ron Howard’s 1988 adventure fantasy, Willow. In the film, the reluctant Willow (Warwick Davis) must protect a baby prophesied to overthrow the evil witch Bavmorda (Jean Marsh). Painted by Mike Pangrazio, an ILM matte artist renowned for his past and present contributions to film, The poster features vague renditions of the main players, Willow, Bavmorda, Madmartigan (Val Kilmer), and Sorcha (Joanne Whalley). This painting was likely used in the process of creating cover art for the junior novel.
This acrylic painting is finished with a gloss acrylic varnish, attached to a particle board, and is signed and dated 1987 by Mike Pangrazio on the lower right corner.
The poster has some production and storage wear including stains and worn edges, however it remains in overall good, production used condition.
