Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The T-1000's (Robert Patrick) SFX Hand Display

Stock # 40995

A special effects hand used in the production of James Cameron’s sci-fi action sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Faced with a new threat, Skynet sends a more advanced terminator, the T-1000 (Robert Patrick) through its time machine to hunt down an adolescent John Connor (Edward Furlong). To prevent John’s death, Tech-Com send a reprogrammed Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to save Connor and help prevent Judgment Day by destroying Cyberdyne.

This style of hand, with the characteristic pointing finger, was used for the scene towards the end of the film as the T-1000 tries to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) within the steel mill. Visual effects were used for the extension of the finger, with physical versions of the hand used for close-ups.

The instantly recognisable piece is made of resin with flesh-tone paints used for the hand. This then gradually transforms into silver around the base of the pointed index finger, finished to replicate the look of the T-1000’s liquid metal.

Featuring some wear from use, the finger has been professionally repaired after a break earlier in its life, with the piece remaining in overall good condition. The hand is presented with a display base and plaque, measuring 24cm x 20cm x 26cm (9.5” x 8” x 10.25”) when displayed.

Fright Night (1985)

"Tom & Jerry Bat" Artwork Display

Stock # 40918

A piece of artwork used in the production of the 1985 American horror film Fright Night. Faced with the prospect of having a vampire for a neighbour, Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) enlists the help of his favourite horror movie actor, Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall), to slay the beast.

Acquired from the collection of visual effects guru Richard Edlund, this artwork was created as part of the process of transforming the vampire Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon) from his human form into that of a snarling, mischievous bat. The artwork was created by creature designer Randall William Cook and features two three-quarter images of Dandridge in bat form, one with its mouth open showing its teeth while the other has its mouth closed. The piece is rendered in pencil on white paper, with a note at the bottom referring to the design as the “Tom & Jerry Bat” and dated October 1984.

Featuring some minor wear from use, the artwork remains in overall very good condition and is presented in a bespoke framed display featuring the film’s title artwork and a gothic wooden frame.
