Muppets Most Wanted

Insert Clapperboard Display

Stock # 38194

A clapperboard used in the production of the modern Muppets sequel Muppets Most Wanted. Arrested in an unfortunate case of mistaken identity, Kermit the Frog must enlist the help of his Muppet friends to escape a Siberian gulag, clear his name and bring his nefarious doppelganger, the criminal mastermind Constantine, to justice.

One of the most iconic and memorable aspects of the movie making industry has to be the clapperboard. For decades this has been a vital piece of equipment that enables not just sound and image to be synchronised, but to also advise the viewer of the raw footage the exact details of the upcoming shot. The simple monochromatic device has become a symbolic image synonymous with films, and is still used to this day.

This insert clapperboard was used for close-up shots where a larger clapperboard was inappropriate for use. The clapper is made of acrylic with the early logo for “The Muppets: Take 2” at the top. The name of director James Bobin has been laser cut into the board, while the name of second unit Director of Photography Michael Burgess is taped over the bottom. The slate has remnants of black marker on it from use, with a printed label denoting the last day of its use as 28th March 2013. The clapper sticks, which are made of wood, remain loose and deliver a sharp snap when closed.

Well used on the production, the clapperboard remains in very good condition and comes presented in a custom framed display featuring the film’s title and poster artwork and an opening front panel allowing direct access to the piece.

I, Robot

Light-Up National Guard Helmet

Stock # 10974

A National Guard helmet used in the Will Smith sci-fi thriller I, Robot. Police Detective Del Spooner (Will Smith) is a cop in Chicago assigned the investigation of Dr Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell), who falls from a balcony under dubious circumstances. His investigation leads to the implication of the robot Sonny (Alan Tudyk), not realising the plot behind is death is far more deadly to the human race.

This style of helmet was worn by members of Illinois’ National Guard as they collect all the robots together and escort them away from the US Robotics building. The helmet is made from green plastic with a foam lining, orange-tinted goggles, a rubber chin strap and an array of helmet mounted equipment on the front and sides.

Attached using magnets, the equipment is comprised of a torch, a helmet camera and a helmet-mounted radio with a poseable mouthpiece and target designator sight, which features an orange-tinted lens with crosshair decals. The helmet camera portion features a miniature LED torch which can be activated using a button on the side. Given a worn, distressed finish, the helmet has US flag details with the text “Illinois” present on both sides.

Well used on the production, the helmet features some minor wear to the paint finish but remains in overall good condition.

Dark Shadows

Miniature Collinwood Manor Front Doors

Stock # 37586

A pair of model doors used in the production of Tim Burton’s fantasy comedy Dark Shadows. Cursed by a to be a vampire and buried for two centuries, Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) is released in 1970s America. Can the vampire restore his family to its former glory, or will the evil witch Angelique (Eva Green) doom him to a life of misery and servitude?

These doors were used for the miniature version of Collinwood Manor, the home of Barnabas Collins and the Collins family, and used for external cutaways throughout the film. Made to approximately 1/3 scale, the doors are fashioned from MDF with wood panelling applied to the front. A pair of ornate resin door knockers are fitted near the tops of the doors, made in the visage of Poseidon holding his trident aloft while standing on a clam shell with fish at his sides. Door handle fittings, also made of resin, are fitted further down. The doors are finished in brown paint with a bronze finish applied to the doors’ hardware.

Well used as part of the miniature set, the doors feature some wear, with scuffs at the edges, minor damage to one of the door knockers and one of the door knobs no longer present, the result of damage during use on the production. However, in spite of these minor blemishes, the doors remain in very good production-used condition, measuring 103cm x 30cm x 6cm (30.5" x 11.75" x 2.5") each.
