This is the impressive looking weapon was carried by Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) and Drake (Mark Rolston). The gun itself is basically an MG42 belt fed machine gun with a number of custom movie add-ons. The “trigger” is a Kawasaki GT brake lever, the front barrel dressing is a Kawasaki 305 foot rest, the grips are Kawasaki GT switch gears. The muzzle brake (the very tip of the gun, that looks like a castle turret) is specially extended and the final detail to alter the original look. The gun was then attached to a “steadicam” rig and was carried around set by the two stars.

This Smartgun is one of two made for filming by Bapty and was blank fire on set. This has been deactivated and has had some restoration to bring it back to its original condition. The markings “adios” and “bitch” are both still visible on the side of the gun. One over painted on the other, an indication that these guns were interchanged between the characters while filming. “Absolutely Bad Ass”
