Fraggle Rock

In 1983, puppetry genius Jim Henson brought to life the incredible world of the Fraggles in Fraggle Rock. The show ran for 4 seasons and was hugely popular. The Fraggles are tiny humanoid creatures that live on radishes and inhabit the natural caves within the titular rock. These endless caves lead to various places, some apparently in different times or dimensions and are filled with a variety of different creatures and nonstop adventures.

The Fraggle in the Propstore collection is one of a horde of unnamed background characters that follow Gobo, Mokey, Wembley and Red on assorted escapades. The general population of Fraggles came in a multitude of different sizes and colours. This chap measures about 22 inches long and is a vivid orange colour, he is constructed from the customary soft “muppet material” that we are all so familiar with yet rarely get the chance to touch in real life. The red hair is made from dyed feathers and that gives incredible lifelike bounce even with the slightest movement.

This Fraggle can be seen in various episodes wearing different costumes but his slightly wonky eyes remain consistent. He was gifted to a senior crew member on completion of the final episode in 1987 and he now waits patiently on his own specially made rock for the impending Fraggle movie which is scheduled for release soon.
